You didn’t hear me?
How could you not?
I was screaming out loud-
My pain and my thoughts
That strangled me loosely
And hung thick like a rope.
I gave you ample warning
And to myself, gave false hope.

A rope- that's ironic,
I thought to myself.
I sat there, amused
With hard, steely wealth
As it lay in my hand
And I toyed in my thoughts
That perhaps I could live.
And yet-- perhaps not.

I thought you would come
When you knew I had gone
And still I sat waiting,
My hand on the gun
That shook in my grip
As I tickled the trigger.
Am I worth it to you?
Remote, my thoughts lingered.

And now here I sit,
Let it fall to the ground.
Blood rushes my head
And my heart slowly pounds.
I thought you would come,
Give a way to relate.
And maybe you did-
But a moment too late.
